Kagato's True Identity.
The Truth
In order to find his missing Captain, Kagato goes to Limsa Lominsa and joins the Maelstrom, hoping to use his skills as well as their resources to locate Captain Tidebringer and his crew.However, after a horrific accident involving an engagement with the Serpent Reavers, Kagato abandons his post at the Maelstrom and sets off on his own. The details of what happened that day are a closely guarded secret. Not a single living soul knows about it.Without the resources or manpower he needs for his newest venture, and out of fear of the truth getting out, Kagato abandons his current life and forms a crew of his own under a new alias. However, he brought with him the curse of his own doing from that fateful day. A bloodthirsty rage permanently symbolized now in his Left Eye, which glowed an unnatural red, serving as a scar of that day as well as a beacon of rage.With the combination of his bloodthirsty nature, his black armor, and his unnatural eye, he was given the nickname:THE RED-EYED RAVEN.Now, Leader and Captain of a notorious group of pirates known as The Abyssal Pirates, Kagato, now known as The Red-Eyed Raven or merely Captain Raven to his crew sets out on various adventures aboard his ship: THE TIDEBRINGER, named after his Captain. He and his crew wander the land and sea for riches, glory, and entertainment. However, while his crew seems satisfied with their revelry, the Captain himself doesn't appear quite as content. He was still after one thing and one thing only, and no one is going to get in his way.

Basic Details
On land, Kagato and his crew are disguised as mere Sailors in order to avoid suspicion. Kagato completely changes his demeanor to a bumbling, but kind-hearted idiot. He constantly wears an eyepatch over his left eye.
Time on land is spent gathering resources and intel using their disguises. This often leads to Kagato and his crew assisting various Free Companies and Organizations in order to make use of their knowledge.
He does what he wants however he wants to whomever he wants. However, this means that he has made both enemies and allies out of numerous people on his adventures. He may be a villainous Pirate, but he does have his own moral code he sticks to, which has made him a Hero to some and a Villain to others. There could be an entire army after his head, yet still one small innocent village that would give him succor.
That red eye isn't just for show. It will glow brighter the more physically or mentally stressed he is. Eventually, he will snap and go berserk, leaving him in a state that makes it difficult for him to restrain himself... or know the difference between friend and foe.

Bounty Hunters looking to cash in on his head, feel free to approach. Don't expect him to go quietly, and depending on how you meet him, you might think you have the wrong guy. No way is this moron worth that much gil... right?
Kagato has ties to the criminal underground. Perhaps you've got something that might interest him?
Perhaps you want to join the crew? There's always room on this ship for more. However, Captain Raven doesn't employ weaklings. Or perhaps you're coming aboard for a different purpose?
Have a Free Company or CWLS that needs a villain? Kagato isn't meant to be a permanent villain or even the Final Boss of most campaigns unless it ties 100% directly with his goals.
One thing he cannot disguise his his love of fighting. If you want to throw down with him, by all means. Let's make a sport out of it. A wager, perhaps. A spar, a brawl, a contest, just request a duel and he'll make time to see you... assuming he thinks you're not a waste of time. Just be prepared for a more brutal engagement than as his disguised counterpart.
OOC Notes
He is meant to be disguised and undercover at various establishments when on land, looking for particular leads and resources. In the criminal world, he is known only as The Red-Eyed Raven, or just Captain Raven for short. His real name of Kagato Zivara isn't on the Wanted posters, nor is his identity known to anyone outside a very, very select few, and he'd prefer to keep it that way.
Absolutely under no circumstances is anyone supposed to recognize Kagato Zivara as The Red-Eyed Raven until such a time during RP that it is revealed, or it is discussed ahead of time.
